Arrive in Moshi at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Equipment check, health briefing and acclimatisation advice. Early rest β€” the climb begins at dawn.

Machame Gate to Machame Camp β€” 3,000m
Enter the rainforest zone. Cool, damp air and dense vegetation. A 5–7 hour hike through forest teeming with colobus monkeys and exotic birds to your first camp.
