Uganda's most famous park — tree-climbing lions, hippos, elephants and the famous Kazinga Channel boat cruise. A perfect introduction to Uganda's wild south.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
The heart of the journey. Trek through ancient mist-covered forest to spend one hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family. An encounter impossible to adequately describe and impossible to forget.

Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

Moshi · Arrival & Briefing
Arrive in Moshi at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Equipment check, health briefing and acclimatisation advice. Early rest — the climb begins at dawn.
Day 2
Machame Gate to Machame Camp — 3,000m
Enter the rainforest zone. Cool, damp air and dense vegetation. A 5–7 hour hike through forest teeming with colobus monkeys and exotic birds to your first camp.

Shira Plateau & Lava Tower — 4,600m
Emerge above the clouds onto the ethereal Shira Plateau. Acclimatisation hike to Lava Tower — climb high, sleep low for optimal acclimatisation.

Barranco Wall to Karanga — 4,200m
The famous Barranco Wall scramble — dramatic volcanic rock with extraordinary views. The landscape becomes increasingly lunar and raw as you approach the summit zone.

Summit Night — Uhuru Peak 5,895m
Midnight departure. Seven hours through the arctic zone by headlamp to Stella Point then Uhuru Peak — the summit of Africa. Watch the sunrise from the roof of the continent.
